The leader in network resource provisioning and automation
6connect’s unique Dynamic Network ProVisioning (DNP) platform enables centralized provisioning of physical and virtual devices across distributed and mobile networks, cloud platforms, web-hosting platforms and data centers. Innovative customers like NTT Data, PCCW, Swisscom, Reliance Jio, Liquid Telecom, Flexential, and CyrusOne utilize DNP to accelerate service delivery time, accurately provision complex network protocols, and dramatically reduce network complexity and costs, while achieving industry change management and compliance requirements.
6connect ProVision dynamically and holistically provisions SDN and physical network control factors needed to initiate and operate network and data center elements, including IP addresses, DNS zones, DNSSEC signatures, DHCP pools, VLAN and device level information. Available as either a highly scalable cloud or on-premise solution, ProVision automatically controls these factors across distributed and separate physical networks in order to reduce errors that can crash networks, cause compliance errors, and delay the creation of new services.
Our founders, Aaron Hughes and Pete Sclafani, created 6connect to solve the problems manual network provisioning created for them and other network architects, administrators, and professionals face every day. As network design and operations veterans they both found that provisioning and configuring networks were too manually intensive and focused only on individual, vendor-specific, network elements. As a result, provisioning could not keep up with rapidly changing data centers, heterogeneous networks, and rampant virtualization. Knowing there had to be a better way, they decided to create something better and entered the startup world.
After bootstrapping their early developments by designing and building networks for leading data center providers, they launched the first 6connect automated provisioning solution with the avid support of early adopters in the cloud service provider space. Developing code as sales increased, they added new features in network automation, configuration and discovery responding to customer requirements for a complete dynamic network provisioning platform. Early success captured the attention of Hummer Winblad in late 2011, which invested in 6connect in 2011. Since that time the company has rapidly expanded its automated provisioning software in its Dynamic Network Provisioning platform, which a growing number of leading enterprises and services providers have installed to automate their network resource provisioning.
