6connect Delivers Record Q1 Results With Dynamic Network Provisioning

ProVision Platform Reduces Network Provisioning Time by 80%

SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – Apr 23, 2013) – 6connect, an industry leader in software-defined network control, announced record first quarter results and new customers for sales of ProVision, its Dynamic Network Provisioning (DNP) platform, to large enterprises and service-providers. A selection of new customers includes EMC Labs, Amazon, GoDaddy, iland, INetU and NetSumo.

EMC Labs adds a marquee enterprise purchase of 6connect’s ProVision automated network provisioning solution under a usage-based pricing system that eliminates budget waste common in hardware-based solutions.

“EMC Labs chose us over a leading legacy IPAM provider because of our robust API, unmatched IPv6 support and unique DNS control console that reduces provisioning time by up to 80%,” said 6connect CEO Bill Bien. “This solidifies our strategy of providing immediate financial value to the Fortune 100.”

In addition to EMC Labs, Amazon and GoDaddy purchased 6connect’s peering automation module — which automates provisioning, peering and management tasks. “Our peering tools help these companies lower transit costs, improve new service introduction times and enhance their customers’ overall user experience,” Bien said.

To address challenges in virtualization, iland and INetU will deploy ProVision to dynamically provision the network resources their VMware virtual machines require across their data center footprints, thus replacing various manual provisioning tasks. “This decreases provisioning time to establish new VMs and also reduces the outage risks normally associated with provisioning them manually,” Bien said.

NetSumo became 6connect’s first European distribution partner and will deploy ProVision to automate its network provisioning and to control the Internet infrastructure it manages on behalf of its clients in the U.K. and across Europe. NetSumo will also deploy ProVision to realize significant time savings and increase profitability of its current services.

“We’re thrilled at our first quarter results and what we expect will be a very exciting 2013 that will include further market expansion, development of new global enterprise sales, and rapid adoption of DNP for software-defined network control,” Bien said. “We have good reason to be bullish about these results because of the value our customers gain from using ProVision. Our customers have told us that our DNP platform saves them 80 percent of the time they would normally spend on provisioning their network resources, creating a significant time-to-market advantage for them.”
